A BACKGROUND report is to be prepared on a 29-year-old Carlisle man who has been prosecuted for assaulting a police officer and damaging a car window.

At the city’s Rickergate court, Cameron Telford entered guilty pleas to both offences, which he committed on February 6 in Carlisle.

The criminal damage charge stated that it cost £120 to replace the Hyundai car window that Telford damaged. Magistrates said they would sentence the defendant, of Trafalgar Street, Denton Holme, once they know more about him.

The Probation Service will therefore prepare that report. In the meantime, the defendant was granted bail until the day when he is sentenced.
