There are several road closures and works being done across Cumbria this week, beginning March 14, that may cause disruption to your journey.

Data taken from Traffic England shows various closures across the M6 and A66.

We’ve listed the active and future roadworks set to affect Cumbria this week.

M6 closures

  • M6 southbound between junctions J45 and J44 – One lane will be closed from 8pm March 13 until 8pm March 15.
  • M6 southbound exit slip at junction J44 - One lane will be closed from 8pm March 13 until 8pm March 15.
  • M6 northbound exit slip at junction J44 - One lane will be closed from 8pm March 13 until 8pm March 15.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J43 and J42 – One lane will be closed until 6am March 28.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J42 and J41 – One lane will be closed from 8pm March 16 until 5am March 17.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J42 and J41 – Two lanes will be closed from 8pm March 15 until 5am March 16.
  • M6 northbound between junctions J41 and J42 - Two lanes will be closed from 8pm March 15 until 5am March 16.
  • M6 southbound entry slip at junction J41 – One lane will be closed until 6am April 14.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J41 and J39  - Two lanes will be closed from 8pm on March 16 until 6am March 17.
  • M6 southbound exit slip at junction J40 – Both lanes will be closed from 8pm March 13 until 6am March 14.
  • M6 northbound between junctions J39 and J40 – Two lanes will be closed everyday between 8p-6am, March 14-19.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J40 and J39 – One lane will be closed from 8pm March 15 until 6am March 16.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J39 and J37 – Two lanes will be closed every day between 8pm-6am, March 15-19.
  • M6 northbound exit slip at junction J38 – Both lanes will be closed between 8pm-6am, March 13-15.
  • M6 northbound between junctions J37 and J38 – One lane will be closed from 8am March 19 until 8pm March 20.
  • M6 northbound exit slip at junction J37 – One lane will be closed between 8pm March 16 until 5am March 17.

A66 closures

  • A66 westbound at the junction with the A595 North – One lane will be closed between 8pm March 15 until 5am March 17.
  • A66 eastbound between the junctions with the A5091 and the A592 – One lane will be closed until 12pm March 20.
  • A66 westbound between the junctions with the A592 and the A5091 - One lane will be closed until 12pm March 20.
