A SUSTAINABILITY group is promising a day of environmental fun.
People and families of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join a free fun day of hands-on sustainable action at Finglandrigg Wood National Nature Reserve which includes some practical conservation and an art activity for all to see and enjoy, according to Sustainable Carlisle.
Katie Lock, of Sustainable Carlisle said: "Our current world can be a tricky and stressful place to be sometimes, so it’s important that everyone has the opportunity to get out and be active in nature.”
Sustainable Carlisle is pairing up with the North Cumbria National Nature Reserve Team within Natural England to create a day out in nature that will help the rare Marsh Fritillary butterfly that was re-introduced back in 2007 onto the reserve following it’s very near extinction in the county.
Also, a local artist will host an art activity for those who want to take inspiration from iconic land artist Andy Goldsworthy as well inspiration from natural surroundings to create ephemeral environment art.
This event is on Saturday, March 26, to meet at the wood’s car park at 10:00 am, with the day ending at 3:00 pm.
