A 33-YEAR-OLD man has died following a crash on Wigton Road in Carlisle, police have confirmed.
The incident occurred near the Westrigg junction just after 3pm yesterday (March 21), just outside Richard Rose Morton Academy.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "Police were called at 3.05pm yesterday (March 21) to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Wigton Road, Carlisle.
"The collision involved an orange Ford Transit van and a Suzuki motorcycle.
"As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist, a man, 33, from Carlisle, died at the scene.
"The road was closed for several hours while a forensic collision investigation was conducted.
"Anyone with any information or who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PS 1962 Vickers or PC 2414 Brockbank on 101 - or email SCIU@cumbria.police.uk quoting log 129 of March 21," they said.
