Workington Reds have bolstered their squad for the promotion run-in with the signing of Jake Cottrell.
The experienced player, who can operate in defence or midfield, has joined Chris Willcock's NPL West high-fliers.
Cottrell, 33, will add pedigree to the Reds squad for their last seven games of the season as they bid for success.
The former Chorley, FC United of Manchester, Ashton and Avro FC man could be involved for the west Cumbrians in this weekend's trip to Prescot Cables.
Manager Willcock moved to bring in Cottrell on non-league transfer deadline day after the expiry of his contract with Avro.
The Reds boss said: "Jake is a player I have known for a long time and anyone who knows him will be aware of his pedigree.
"He has a wealth of experience and a record of winning league titles.
"He has captained every club he has played for and that tells you everything you need to know about his personality.
"At this stage of the season he will add great value to the squad as we embark on our last seven games."
Reds sit second in the table, two points behind leaders Warrington Rylands but with two games in hand.
They stayed very much in the title hunt with a dramatic late 1-0 win at Ramsbottom United thanks to a 90th-minute Kyle Harrison goal.
