Sellafield Ltd have announced that Copeland MP Trudy Harrison has visited their new robotics facility in Whitehaven this week.
Sellafield have said that they are pleased the MP came to visit and look forward to the opening of the centre later in the year.
A spokesperson said: "Great to have Trudy Harrison MP come and have a look round the new RAICo1 robotics facility in Whitehaven today. The facility will open later in the year but it’s already home to important work that will benefit the Sellafield site.
"RAICo1 is being delivered by Sellafield Ltd and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority in collaboration with the UK Atomic Energy Authority, the National Nuclear Laboratory and the University of Manchester."
