MAGISTRATES have handed a £100 fine to a 23-year-old Cleator Moor man who was seen driving while looking at his mobile phone.
Mitchell Wood, 23, of Crossfield Road, committed the offence on November 13 last year while driving on the A595 at Lowca, Workington’s magistrates’ court heard.
The charge stated that as a result of his concentration of his phone he did not have proper control of his car.
Six points were put on his licence. Wood also admitted not wearing a seat-belt while driving but there was no separate penalty imposed for this offence.
