THE new-look Cumberland News has been welcomed by readers who love the easier-to-handle compact format.
We’ve also heard ‘it’s good value’ and our audience likes ‘reading more local news’.
Feedback we asked for from readers has also resulted in a review of the style of some of our pages and we are introducing a What’s On page. Our readers and advertisers can visit the section on our News & Star and The Cumberland News website and enter details of events happening in the area.
Joy Yates, acting editor, said: “I am delighted with the feedback following the relaunch of The Cumberland News from a broadsheet to a compact title. We have already listened to constructive feedback on lifestyle content and style, which we have addressed immediately.
“We’ve introduced more district news, local lifestyle content and there’s also a chance to win £1,000.
“A huge thank you to our readers for continuing to support The Cumberland News and to our editorial, commercial and support teams for all their hard work and the pride they’ve shown in producing the new CN.
“The CN has a rich history of more than 200 years of award-winning journalism and we look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality news, sport, farming, lifestyle and feature content.”
Our advertisers have also welcomed our new format.
Lee Taylor-Craddock, commercial director, said: “The move to a new compact format with the additional investment in more hyper-local content will not only bring a refreshed feel to the product and improve the overall reader experience, it will also result in an improved environment for our loyal advertisers who already benefit from the huge local engagement The Cumberland News provides as a platform and brand.
“We are extremely grateful and would like to thank all our advertisers who continue to support us seeing local media as an integral part of their media mix.
“We very much look forward to continuing to play an important part in their local marketing strategies in the future and the enhancements to The Cumberland News will only better this moving forward.”
