There are several road closures and works being done across Cumbria this week as we head into the long weekend.

From April 11 until April 18 various closures and works could affect your journey.

Data taken from Traffic England shows there are various closures across the M6, A66 and A590.

We’ve listed the active and future roadworks set to affect Cumbria this week.

M6 closures

  • M6 southbound between junctions J45 and J44 – One lane will be closed from 7am April 12 until 10pm the same evening.
  • M6 northbound between junctions J44 and J45 - One lane will be closed from 7am April 12 until 10pm the same evening.
  • M6 northbound entry slip at junction J42 – One lane will be closed every day from April 11-13 between the hours of 6am and 8pm.
  • M6 southbound entry slip at junction J42 – One lane will be closed from 6am April 11 until 8pm the same day.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J42 and J41 – One lane will be closed on April 12 during the hours 8am to 8pm.
  • M6 northbound between junctions J41 and J42 – One lane will be closed from 8am April 12 until 8pm April 13.
  • M6 southbound entry slip at junction J41 – One lane will be closed until 6am April 14.
  • M6 southbound between junctions J41 and J40 – All three lanes will be closed due to roadworks every day from April 11-13 during the hours 8pm and 6am.
  • M6 northbound between junctions J39 and J40 – Two lanes will be closed every day from April 11-13 during the hours 8pm and 6am.
  • M6 northbound exit slip at junction J39 – One lane will be closed on April 12 from 8am to 4pm.

A66 closures

  • A66 eastbound between the junctions with the A5086 and the A591 north of Keswick – Roadside drain works will see a lane closed until 8pm April 11.
  • A66 westbound between the junctions with the A592 and the A5091 – One lane will be closed from 8pm April 11 until 6am April 12.
  • A66 eastbound between the junctions with the A592 and the M6 - One lane will be closed from 8pm April 12 until 6am April 13. It will then close again during the same hours from April 13-14.

A590 closures

  • A590 eastbound between the junctions with the A591 and the M6 – One lane will be closed from 8pm April 12 until 5am April 13.
