A woman is raising money to fund a funeral for her late father.
Kirsty Bruce, a support worker from Mirehouse, is raising money online to fund a proper send-off for her father, Ivor Bruce, who sadly passed away earlier this month.
Setting a goal of £1000 to cover all costs, she has reached £880 at the time of reporting, thanks to the selflessness of loved ones, family, friends, and members of the community who knew and loved her father.
Kirsty paid tribute to her late father and local legend, who will be very sorely missed by not only his family, but the broader Mirehouse community, who she said all knew him.
Kirsty said she is raising money for the fundraiser because her father had nothing when he died, as his consistently selfless nature saw him giving his money away to those who needed it most throughout his life.

Kirsty said: "He would do anything for anyone."
Ivor was a taxi driver for over 30 years, and throughout his life he was always doing something for someone, KIrsty said.
She said: "He was always out and about."
She added that his popularity in the community had seen him having around 10 Christmas dinners on Christmas day, each at someone else's house - or at least he would pay a visit to them all, as everyone loved him.
A lover of cars, Kirsty said he had about five cars, which he would be always working on and fixing up.
When he wasn't transporting people to and from places as a taxi driver, he would often do tip runs for people out of the kindness of his heart.
Passing away at the age of 60 on April 10, 2022, after suffering from terminal cancer, the memory of Ivor Bruce will remain present in the minds of many Mirehouse residents, and especially his many children and grandchildren.
He had six children including Kirsty: Natasha Dockray; Gareth Bruce; Zach Bruce; Abbey Clamatson and; Jade Shaw, who all loved him, as well his seven grandchildren: Lewis; Jake; Reece; Kalen; Alicia; Blake; Lucas and; Anna.
Kirsty also praised the 'wonderful' nurses in CCU at West Cumberland Hospital.
