THE FORMER lead singer of 90s band Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Huey Morgan, will perform a DJ set filled with disco classics in Carlisle.
A hugely respected DJ, raconteur, author, producer and broadcaster, Morgan will be live at Old Fire Station for a massive dance floor party with ‘Huey Morgan presents Huey 54’ on Saturday, June 11.
Announcing his departure from the Scooby Snacks rockers earlier in the year, the New Yorker hosts his own show on BBC Radio 6 Music on Saturday mornings. ‘The Huey Show’ won a Bronze Award at the 2009 Sony Radio Academy Awards. He also replaced former Never Mind the Buzzcocks host Mark Lamarr with early morning shows for BBC Radio 2.
The Old Fire Station has set the stage for a Studio 54 inspired night, with mirror ball in place, for a celebratory night of Soul, Funk and NYC Disco classics from Chic, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Cameo to Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan and Donna Summer.
The all-standing event will commence starts at 6:45pm and early bird tickets are available to purchase now, priced at £12.50.
To secure your place on the dancefloor, visit the Old Fire Station’s website for more information.
