"These annual awards recognise and reward the excellent talents, efforts and achievements demonstrated by so many each day in Cumbria.
"They also celebrate the great partnerships, practices and people from across all forms of learning - from the early years, schools and colleges, higher education, and vocational provision like apprenticeships, to lifelong learning and those who make valuable community contributions.
He added: “It is an opportunity to celebrate those who change the lives and livelihoods through learning, the 2022 Golden Apples will recognise the transformational power that education has, not only for individuals but also those education and employer organisations and local communities that we’re all part of.
He went on to say: “As Cumbria’s university, we work across all levels of education through our partnerships with others – with educators, businesses, employers and many more – helping to increase higher-level skills across our region through our flexible and progressive higher education programmes to a diverse student body that’s currently around 14,000 students."
