The rescue team's lifeboat, the E-On Spirit of Maryport, was tasked by Belfast Coastguard to conduct a close inshore search, from Flimby up to Allonby bay.

Other team members joined up with Maryport and Whitehaven Coastguard to search the shore line and surrounding areas.

Following a thorough search of the area and whilst re-deploying to another search area the welcome news came through that the person was located safe and well in another area.

All teams then returned to their stations.
