There are several road closures and works being done across Cumbria this week, beginning April 24, that may cause disruption to your journey.
Data taken from Traffic England shows various closures across the M6 and A590.
We’ve listed the active and future roadworks set to affect Cumbria this week.
M6 closures
- M6 southbound between junctions J40 and J39 – One lane will be closed from 8am on April 25 until 5am April 27 as road repairs are planned.
- It will be closed again between 6am April 28 until 6am April 29.
- M6 southbound between junctions J39 and J38 – One lane will be closed from 10pm April 28 until 6am April 30. This is due to roadworks.
- The junction of the M6 J38 and the A685 – Both lanes will be closed from 8pm April 30 until 5am May 1.
- M6 southbound entry slip at junction J38 – Both lanes will be closed from 8am May 1 until 5am May 2.
- M6 southbound exit slip at junction J38 - Both lanes will be closed from 8pm April 30 until 5am May 1.
- M6 northbound between junctions J37 and J39 – One lane will be closed from 8pm April 30 until 5am May 1.
- M6 northbound between junctions J37 and J38 – Two lanes will be closed from 8pm April 25 until 5am April 26.
- M6 northbound between junctions J37 and J38 – One lane is closed and will remain closed until 11pm April 27.
A590 closures
- A590 eastbound between the A592 and the junction with the A5074 – Due to a road traffic collision (Sunday, April 24), this stretch of road is closed. This is expected to re-open between 8:15 and 8:30 on Sunday, April 24.
- A590 between the junctions with the A591 and the A6 – One lane will be closed between 8pm May 1 until 11pm May 6.
