POLICE have confirmed a man in his thirties was found dead at the scene of a house in a quiet suburban street in Carlisle.
The news follows after emergency services, including three fire engines, attended a house fire on Pennington Drive at 8.53am yesterday morning (April, 24).
A spokesperson for Cumbria Constabulary said: "Fire, Search and Rescue, Police and NWAS attended the scene.
"A man in his 30s was located in the premises and was declared dead at the scene.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and remains under investigation," they said.

Yesterday, Cumbria Police cordoned off the property and a forensic tent was installed as an investigation got underway.
Residents who live on and nearby Pennington Drive expressed shock at the large response of emergency vehicles and said that it was a quiet suburb of Carlisle.
One resident said: "This is very upsetting and sad. It is a very quiet and beautiful area and not something you would think would happen here."
Officers and emergency services remained at the premise for most of the day.
