THE CASE against a Carlisle woman accused of possessing child abuse images and extreme pornography has been sent to the city’s crown court.
Jasmine Challands, 46, who is currently remanded to Durham Prison, has yet to enter pleas to the two charges she faces. They were outlined at the city’s Rickergate court as follows:
Between February 12, 2021 and March 16, 2022, in Carlisle, she possessed extreme pornographic images, which portrayed rape in an “explicit and realistic way.”
And that during the same time period, she possessed 85 prohibited images of a child.
The defendant entered no pleas and the case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on May 16. Challands, formerly of Warwick Road, Carlisle, was remanded in custody until that day when she is likely to be asked to enter pleas.
