A BRAMPTON woman has been given a 31-month driving ban after she pleaded guilty to drink driving.
Lisa Smith, 49, committed the offence n April 23 as she drove a VW Fox in Chandler’s Lane, Brampton, while she was over the limit by a more than three times, Carlisle’s Rickergate court heard.
A breath test confirmed she had 127mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The limit for driving is 35mcg.
The defendant, or Low Cross Buildings, Brampton, was fined £461, with a £46 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Smith was offered a drink driver awareness course which, if completed by a deadline, will reduce the ban by 31 weeks.
An earlier hearing was told the defendant drove only a very short distance when she committed the offence.
