TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of trespassing with an air rifle in the Scotby area.
The incident took place on May 5 at around 5pm.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "Police are investigating an incident where two men were seen with firearms on private land at Scotby.
"Two men, aged 29 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of trespass on land with an air rifle, possession of an air rifle in a public place and possession of an air rifle by a prohibited person.
"They were released under investigation.
"Anybody who may have witnessed the incident or the men in the area of Scotby – or who may have other information relating to the incident - is asked to contact PC 2554 or PC 2743, of the Mobile Support Group.
