JOHN Stevenson, MP for Carlisle has been re-elected to chair the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Food and Drink, at the Annual General Meeting held this week.
The group very much acts as a voice for food and drink in Parliament and serves to raise the profile of the food and drink industry, exploring and highlighting issues in Parliament, which effect it.
John has successfully chaired the group since 2010.
He said: “I am honoured to be able to continue my work as the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Food and Drink. Carlisle hosts many key food and drink manufacturing businesses and many of my constituents are employed in the industry. I’m delighted to be able to carry on representing the sector in Parliament.”
