A CARLISLE-based beautician is offering casts of hands and feet to her customers.
Dani Hammond, owner of Vybrant Beauty, began making casts about ten years ago to document her daughter’s early childhood.
Drawing on her previous experience as a lecturer in make-up artistry at Carlisle College, Dani uses an alginate mould to create plaster casts of hands and feet. These casts can then be finished in silver or gold and mounted on a plinth or in a frame.
Double-hand casts for couples are popular and there is also a demand for casts of pets’ paws.
After the pandemic caused her to reevaluate her priorities, Dani launched Vybrant Beauty in January this year. Having worked in the industry for years, she was keen to ensure that her salon would stand out from the rest.
She said: “I’ve found that a lot of people enjoy coming to me for treatments because my business is that little bit different.”
The salon already has a growing base of returning customers, owing to the comfortable environment they find there.
Dani also offers a range of aesthetic treatments, from microdermabrasion and microneedling to dermaplaning and chemical peels. She said: “There’s not really much that I can’t do!”
Vybrant Beauty can be found above Ruby Jules hair salon in Carlisle city centre.
