DANGER: The sinkhole that has appeared in the street.
An ROAD has been closed in Workington due to 'the likelihood of danger' due to a sinkhole.
Elizabeth Street in the town has been shut from the junction with Carlton road to the junction with Cavendish Street.
This notice will be in force for a period of up to 21 days from May,25 2022, as and when the relevant signs are displayed.
It is anticipated that the restriction will be required for 1 week.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the Carlton Street, Ramsay Brow and Cavendish Street and a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
