A NORTH Cumbrian woman faces a magistrates’ court trial over an allegation that she failed to provide police with a blood specimen for analysis when they suspected she had committed an offence.
Sophie Ford, 35, of Bolton Wood Lane, Westward, near Wigton, is accused of committing the offence in Workington on October 29 last year.
At Carlisle’s Rickergate court, the defendant entered a not guilty plea. Magistrates ruled that there must be trial to resolve the charge. Lawyers said they estimate the trial will last for six hours.
The case was adjourned for a case management hearing on June 15. The defendant, who was represented by defence lawyer Sean Harkin, was granted bail. She was excused from attending the next hearing.
