A TOP Carlisle restaurant has announced a new venture in the hospitality industry.
Alexandros, a family-run Greek restaurant and deli on Warwick Road, has started the journey towards accommodation with two holiday lets on the nearby Portland Square.
The restaurant is a long-time favourite for the city and north of the county, and is among the best-rated restaurants in Carlisle.

The holiday lets are described as 'luxury self-catering apartments' and while there are only two available to book for now, the restaurant’s owner said there are plans for more in the future.
At the moment the apartments are licensed as long-term rent apartments, but the restaurant’s owner, Sarah Pathanoglou, said she is in the process now of changing the license to a holiday let, which can take several weeks.
Sarah also explained: “We are also going to be putting in planning for just above the deli to do the same.”
The deli is at the 66 Warwick Road address, next to the restaurant.
Sarah continued: “We are developing these into apart-hotels which will complement Portland Square."
The two available apartments are viewable on their website.
