A CUMBRIAN lash technician, Alex Ryan, has made the final of major beauty awards, just a year after winning the overall competiton.
Alex previously won the Lash Extensions Specialist of the Year award at the English Nails Brows and Lashes award in 2020. The pandemic meant the award could not take place in 2021, however, this did not hinder Alex who is back up for the award in 2022.
Alex started her business in 2017 from her bedroom with little to no knowledge on how to manage self employment.
Since then, Alex has now changed her businesses name to 'HOUSE OF SASS' and has taken the plunge into education and became fully accredited, insured and received a teaching NVQ to allow her to showcase her talent to her students, one of whom has joined her in the line up for the finals.
"Alex also has her own lash products, strip lash brand, website, ambassadors and even her own home built salon.
Alex said: "Receiving the news via social media that I had made the finals again was literally overwhelming!
"I don’t want to be the best at everything, I want to specialise in this one field as this is my passion so this is huge for me."
When asked about how she sees her business developing, Alex said: "Watch this space!"
