FOOD hygiene ratings have been handed out to 32 Carlisle establishments by the Food Standards Agency.
Two takeaways received a 1 out of 5 hygiene rating. These were Dantes Fish and Chips and Fortune Garden Chinese at Peking Chef Express.
17 restaurants, cafes and canteens were ranked in the area, with a large number securing a '5' hygiene rating - the highest available.
A number of establishments received a 5 hygiene rating including Toby Carvery on Warwick Road, Nandos Restaurant on Warwick Road and The Chimes Cafe on Castle Street.
Of the restuarants, cafes and canteens rated only one received a score lower than five which was Lanercost Tearooms at Abbey Farmhouse.
Ten ratings were handed out to pubs bars and nightclubs, The Sportsman Inn and The Griffin both received a 5. One venue then received a 4 rating, which was 301 Miles from London at the Citadel Railway Station.
Of the other takeaways ranked all received a five star hygiene rating, including Happy Garden at Portland Place and Rennuci's on Orton Road.
