AN Asian woman residing in Cumbria is set to receive an OBE and makes the county proud of her tremendous efforts which led to the award.
Saj Ghafoor, CEO of Multicultural Cumbria, will soon be on her way to the capital to receive her OBE. Saj Ghafoor’s commitment and dedication to her work has been recognised and appreciated on a national scale with this honour.
Saj's team describe her as, "a woman of great strength and stride".
Saj has dedicated her life in making a better and inclusive Cumbria. Now, her team are 'elated' that she will be amongst many others who have been commended for their incredible work to the country.
Saj is the first Asian woman in Cumbria to receive the OBE. She is the founder of Multicultural Cumbria, formerly known as Multicultural Carlisle.
During her time, she has welcomed thousands of people with open arms to the famous Culture Bazaar, bringing uthe county fun, colour, culture, music, delicious food and lots of dance.
Her legacy of selfless service to the community has been appreciated by all those she has touched and embraced.
