Cumbrian star Nick Miller will go for glory in the World Athletics Championships this weekend.
The British hammer record holder will compete in the qualification stages in Oregon today.
The final then comes tomorrow, with Miller hoping to be in contention.
Scotby star and Border Harrier Miller, 29, will be aiming to make his fourth world final.
The contest in the USA comes amid an exciting summer which will also see Miller defend his Commonwealth Games title in Birmingham.
The Cumbrian recently claimed the title at the recent British Championships with a throw of 73.84m.
The hammer qualification round Group A, in which Miller competes, gets under way at 5.05pm UK time today.
The final is then on Saturday at 8pm UK time.
