THE PUBLIC are being urged to take a leap of faith in support of the mayor’s charities.

Carlisle City Councillor Elizabeth Mallinson has donated a voucher for a skydive to the mayor’s charities, which are this year supporting disadvantaged children and young people with a terminal illness.

Mayor of Carlisle Mike Mitchelson was appointed in May and he is set to be the last in the city council’s tenure as the area is set to become part of the new Cumberland Council’s footprint.

The mayor’s charities for 2022/23 are Carlisle Key, CFM’s Cash for Kids and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.

And Cllr Mallinson is urging the public to take part in a charity skydive with funds set to be split between the good causes.

Cllr Mallinson said that the work at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw is “very dear to my heart.”
