A CUMBRIAN skincare company has won a prestigious industry award.
Oak & Stone Organics, which is based in Carlisle, has won a gold medal in the ‘special free-from achievement honours category’ at the 11th annual Free From Skincare Awards for their best-selling face and body polish.
The Europe-wide awards were founded to encourage and reward manufacturers of skincare products that are free from many of the allergens, preservatives, additives and fragrances associated with skin sensitivities, allergies, and ethical, environmental and health concerns.
Kaylie Jackson, the company’s founder, said: “I’m thrilled to have won a gold award on my first ever attempt at entering a cosmetic award.
“I don’t believe skincare needs to be complicated, or have a list of ingredients that you can’t even pronounce, and so I only include 100 per cent natural ingredients that are kind to the skin and intensely nourishing and hydrating.”
The announcements were made online on Tuesday, July 19, and followed a long judging process which included a rigorous month-long assessment by four experienced cosmetic testers, and concluded with round-table expert judging sessions, held in June.
Kaylie founded Oak & Stone Organics in 2020, during the first pandemic to be able to stay at home and support her young daughter.
Her business quickly took off, and quickly found a popular online presence with support from celebrities such as Stacey Solomon.
Kaylie added: “It was a steep learning curve but it’s been an amazing journey and for my products to be recognised by such a prestigious award means everything.
“We’re due to launch our much anticipated new skincare range in September which will add to our already best selling products.
“It’s a brand new and innovative concept so I’m really excited to see what everyone thinks!”
