A SENSATIONAL playwright is set to bring her new creation to Carlisle's Green Room theatre.
Gillian Duffy will bring her new comedy drama Two’s Company to The Green Room Club on Saturday, September 17.
Two's Company follows the story of hopeful romantic Maureen Parker, who is twice divorced, single and the owner of ‘Two’s Company’ Matchmaking Agency, a new dating service for those who prefer ‘a more traditional approach’ to finding love.
Maureen receives an enquiry which rings a few unexpected bells; her first love, Michael, the one who broke her heart, is back in town and he’s looking for a date – with her.

Gillian's newest play, which she wrote during Covid, will come off the back of a run at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival - scheduled to start next Wednesday, which coincides with her hysterical play The Ghosting of Rabbie Burns, also running at the fringe's Gilded Balloon.
The penultimate showing of Two's Company comes to Carlisle after going on tour around Scotland as well as the Fringe festival.
"The guys at the Carlisle Green Room club reached out to me to ask if we would bring Two's Company down to Carlisle and I was absolutely over the moon. It was a nice natural add-on that they reached out," Gillian said.
"I was going to do an English run of the play in its own but it's nice to we've been able to come to Carlisle on the back of this tour in Scotland.
"Because Carlisle is only over the border, I think the tone of the play, the Scots, Northern English and Irish have a very similar dark humour in that regard, so with the play having such a great Scottish cast, I'm sure it'll carry over really well," she said.
The play will feature a superb list of actors such as Matt Costello, perhaps best known as Stevie The Bookie in Still Game; Carolyn Calder known for Emmerdale and Taggart and Una Ailsa Macnab known for Take the High Road.
Tickets are available via the Carlisle Green Room website.
