A SEARCH operation is in progress to find a missing paddleboarder in the Lake District.
A variety of emergency service teams collaborated on a call out yesterday to a paddleboarder who had reportedly become separated from his board.
Maryport Rescue and the coastguards were called out yesterday (August 7) at 1:30pm as part of the multi-agency call-out.
They joined Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, and the Ullswater ranger to search the area where the paddleboarder was last seen (Ullswater).
Also on the scene were a coastguard rescue helicopter and the Whitehaven coastguard team.
Alongside the police and Northwest Ambulance Service, a search of the area took place.
After an extensive search by air, all teams stood down as nothing was found, leaving the paddleboarder, described as male, unaccounted for.
