A SEARCH operation is continuing in Ullswater today (August 9) to find a paddleboarder who has been missing for three days.
A number of emergency service teams are collaborating on a callout which began at 1pm on Sunday August 7 and continued yesterday ( Monday August 8) after a paddleboarder got separated from his board near Aira Point, Ullswater.
Cumbria Police are heading up a multi-agency search for the missing man believed to come from Greater Manchester.
Maryport Rescue coastguards were called out on Sunday and were joined by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, and the Ullswater ranger.
A coastguard helicopter and Whitehaven coastguard team have also been deployed to Ullswater.
After an extensive search all teams were stood down on Sunday evening as nobody was found, leaving the paddleboarder unaccounted for.
The search continues today (Tuesday August 9), led by Cumbria police – according to Patterdale Mountain Rescue.
A spokesperson from Cumbria police said searches yesterday concluded in the early evening and started again this morning.
The paddleboarder has now been missing for three days.
