A spokesperson from Egremont Town Council said: "The new owner is Salim Siddique from Teeside and he has worked all over the UK including cooking for dignitaries in London; he is bringing his expertise to Egremont.
"The new chefs are Abdul, Malik as well as Salim and there is also the manager Jade Dougherty who has 22 years’ experience working in Teza and for its previous owners.
"Salim would like to extend a warm welcome to past and future customers and Town Councillors, Gareth Stringer and Mike McVeigh were proud to play a small part in the opening.
"Egremont welcomes this investment and we wish the business all the luck in the world; so please go and support Teza Spice. They have invested in our town, let’s show them we appreciate this and support and welcome them."
