Firefighters attended the scene of a car crash in the early hours of this morning (August 16).
At approximately 1am, firefighters from Carlisle East and Carlisle West were sent to the crash, which involved one vehicle, in the centre of Burgh by Sands.
In attendance, crews discovered that one vehicle had left the road and collided with a wall, and was on fire.
Fortunately, both occupants of the vehicle had managed to get out of the vehicle.
Crews extinguished the blaze using one set of breathing apparatus, and one hose reel, and provided casualty care until the arrival of the North West Ambulance Service.
