Jim Nichols’ side host Goole tomorrow in the preliminary round of the famous knockout competition.
The Gillford Park club will be aiming to make further progress after their unbeaten start to 2021/22.
The Northern League Division One newcomers are already sitting third after four wins and a draw.
Their fourth straight victory came on Tuesday night when goals from Brandon Longcake and Sam Atkinson earned a 2-1 win over Northallerton Town at the Three Rivers Health & Safety Consultancy Stadium.
That put them two points behind leaders Ashington in the fledgling table.
This weekend sees them out to continue their progress in their first FA Cup campaign for 42 years.
Visitors Goole sit mid-table in the Northern Counties East Football League.
Victory for City would also net them £1,444 in prize money.
Other Cumbrian involvement in the FA Cup this weekend sees Danny Grainger's Workington Reds travel to West Allotment Celtic, who knocked out Penrith in the previous round.
Kendal Town go to Bishop Auckland.
