Promising Cumbrian athletes brought home medals from the Northern Athletics Championships.
The competition, for under-13, under-15 and under-17 athletes, saw success in the hammer for members of Cumbria School of Hammer.
Joshua Reibbitt took gold in the under-15 boys’ hammer in the event at Wavertree Athletics Centre in Liverpool.
And Anna Brocklebank, who like Joshua is also a member of Carlisle Aspatria Athletics Club, claimed bronze in the under-15 girls’ hammer.
Anna also came eighth in the under-15 girls’ discus.
Millie MacQueen, of Border Harriers, came fourth in the under-15 girls’ hammer and tenth in the under-15 girls’ javelin.
There was bronze, meanwhile, for Evie Bryden from Annan in the under-17 women’s discus in the Scottish Athletics Championships in Aberdeen.
The Cumbria School of Hammer’s next competition is this Saturday at 10am at the Sheepmount in Carlisle, where eight athletes from England and Scotland will compete.
