Carlisle fighter Danny Christie won at Wembley after a blood-soaked bare-knuckle fight.

The Currock boxer got the better of Terry Brazier in his debut at the major bare-knuckle event in London.

A barrage of punches from 37-year-old Christie led referee Mike Belgrave to stop the fight one minute and 22 seconds into the third round.

Christie had earlier connected with some big shots as he overpowered mixed martial arts (MMA) star Brazier to win by technical knock-out (TKO).

Both men were making their first outings in the bare-knuckle scene at the BKFC27 event, and it was not long before both men drew blood with some powerful punching.

Belgrave deducted points from Brazier in both rounds for striking Christie with the back of his hand.

The Carlisle fighter went on to hold his own despite, in the second round, suffering a large facial cut.

Christie also drew blood from Brazier as he went on the attack, with medical staff patching both men up and satisfied the fight could continue.

It was then in the third round that Christie made his decisive moves, landing a heavy left-handed shot before flooring Brazier with another.

The Londoner fought on – but was overwhelmed by a further series of Christie punches as Belgrave eventually stepped in.

The two boxers embraced after the fight as Christie’s impressive victory was announced to the Wembley Arena crowd.

Statistics of the fight, which was streamed to a pay-per-view audience by BKFC, showed Christie threw 120 punches to Brazier’s 145, the Cumbrian landing 65 and his opponent 84.

The Carlisle fighter is set to continue in the high-profile bare-knuckle scene having recently agreed a three-fight deal.
