Places are still available to study at the University of Cumbria in September through clearing.

Thousands of teenagers across the county received their A-Level results last Thursday after sitting in-person exams for the first time since before the pandemic.

Courses with places still available include law, physiotherapy, biomedical science and children’s nursing.

Clearing is the system to help students who didn’t quite get the grade they wanted, got better grades than they expected, have changed their minds on their chosen course or who never applied to go to university at all.

The University of Cumbria was launched in 2007, is home to over 10,000 students and recently submitted an application to redevelop Carlisle’s historic citadel buildings into a state-of-the-art campus.

Prospective students are encouraged to contact the university directly on their clearing hotline at 0808 1787373 and to visit the clearing page on the University of Cumbria website.
