AN INTERIM driving ban has been imposed on a Workington man after he admitted driving dangerously and while over the alcohol limit.

Adrian Graham, 38, of Corporation Road, committed the offences on March 2 as he drove a Land Rover Discovery in Maryport at Ellenborough Road and Collins Terrace, Carlisle Crown Court was told.

At the time, according to court records, he had 96mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit for driving is 35mcg.

The defendant entered guilty pleas to both offences and also admitted driving while he was not insured to do so.

Judge Ian Unsworth QC told Graham that he will be subjected to an interim driving ban, the length of which will be determined on October 5 when he will be back before the court to be sentenced.

In the meantime, a background report will be prepared about the defendant by the Probatoin Service. Granted bail until he is next back before the court, Graham was represented in court by defence lawyer Sean Harkin.
