A woman has appeared in court charged with burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.
Gemma Rice, 31, of Hunday Court, Workington, is also accused of breaching a criminal behaviour order by entering Home Bargains in Workington on June 28.
Rice is accused of entering a property on Devonshire Street in Workington as a trespasser on May 21 and stealing the keys of a Vauxhall Insignia.
It is alleged that Rice then took the Vauxhall Insignia without the owner’s consent and allowed herself to be carried in it. Damage was allegedly caused to the vehicle after it was taken.
Rice did not enter pleas to charges of burglary and theft, aggravated vehicle taking and breaching a criminal behaviour order, when she appeared at Workington Magistrates' Court.
The case will be heard at Carlisle Crown Court on September 2.
In the meantime, Rice must abide by a 7pm-7am curfew, must not have contact with the co-accused, or enter Devonshire Street.
