ARRESTS have been made following an alleged incident of assault which was filmed and subsequently circulated on social media.
Police were contacted at 3:41pm on August 29 with a report of an assault which occurred on King Street in Aspatria.
Two men, aged 18 and 39 respectively, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
The 39-year-old man, from Aspatria, was also arrested on suspicion of assault.
Both men have been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Inspector Nathan Greenhow said: “We are aware of a video in circulation on social media of a fight involving a number of men in Aspatria.
“We are doing all we can to identify those involved and establish the full circumstance of this incident.
“Violent behaviour such as this will not be tolerated.
"Not only can violent behaviour have serious consequences for those involved, it also has a detrimental impact on the wider community.
“If you witnessed this incident, I would encourage you to please get in such so we can ensure those involved are held responsible for their actions.”
