AN annual charity bike ride marks its 33rd year as bikers get ready to set off on their journey, raising money along the way.
The annual Browton bike ride will taking place this year on the weekend of September 17th and 18th. This year is the 33rd year of the event which raises money for the old folks outing.
This is carrying on the tradition started by the late Malcolm Martin. The event started as a half marathon in the first year Malcolmnset it up, and quickly changed to a bike ride in the following years.
This years journey sees Mitch Gorley, one of the original 7, complete his 32nd year and other original member John Wilson is his support driver.
The event features cyclists, amatuers and even those who borrow a bike from a friend and turn up on the day - everyone is welcome.
Stephen who is taking part again this year said:
"It is always a good weekend. We have 12 to 13 cyclists taking part at the minute."
There are still places for anyone wanting to join the cyclist for this year's outing.
