An event for dogs and their owners has sadly been cancelled as the nation mourns the death of Her Majesty the Queen.
Wetheral charity Oak Tree Animals' Charity was set to host their Fun Dog Show at Hammond’s Pond tomorrow (September 10).
Participants were promised a ‘pawsome’ day of fun, which including dog training and behaviour advice, children’s crafts, a raffle and a pet tombola.
There was also set to be classes includeing musical sits (musical chairs for dogs), rover retrieve to see which dog can retrieve the most balls, happiest hound, best trick, temptation alley – a class that tests a dog’s obedience, fastest recall, ball and spoon race, and a treat catch.
A spokesperson for the charity wrote in a public announcement: "Apologies to all but in the light of the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth, Oaktree are postponing the event this Saturday.
"We will keep you all informed as to when we can rearrange."
