PLANS for a development of “high quality, attractive housing for affordable rent” have been submitted to the council for approval.
Copeland Borough Council has received an application to develop land at Fell View Avenue and Windermere Road in Whitehaven.
The proposal has been submitted by Home Group to build 24 two-bedroom bungalows, four three-bedroom bungalows and 12 two-bedroom houses.

In supporting statements submitted to Copeland Council, the agent, Architects Plus said: “Our intention is to provide high quality, attractive housing for affordable rent, that suits the needs of the local community.
“The project aims to provide an attractive, affordable and secure development with dwellings which appeal to young couples, families and older residents.”
They added that plans have been designed to benefit the area whilst meeting Copeland’s housing needs.
“The development will focus on place making to enhance the public realm, providing high quality streetscapes and landscaping to improve the aesthetic appearance, security and social infrastructure for residents. The design will be attractive, have its own identity and be well connected to the surrounding area.”

Home Group and Architects Plus hope that the development will be a fitting addition to the area.

The public can view and comment on all applications submitted to Copeland Council for approval.
