M6 Motorists in Cumbria are advised of long delays on the Motorway due to weekend bridge maintenance near J33.
There are reports of long delays both ways and motorists have been urged to stay away if possible.
Traffic monitoring Inrix states: "M6 Southbound closed, long delays due to weekend bridge maintenance works until the early hours of Monday morning from J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang) to J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange).
"Avoid if at all possible. Lakes traffic may want to consider crossing the Pennines and heading down the A1 instead.
"Diversion - A6 through Garstang which was reportedly taking over seven hours on Saturday."
