THE Friends of Rickerby Park (FRP) were delighted to hear about the new Swift’s Nature Reserve in the Cumberland News on September 9.
As neighbours across the River Eden we now both provide a wonderful benefit for the community and wildlife.
Our recent work in Eden Bridge Gardens (EBG) includes a refurbished historic top pond and fountain, a restored rose bed along the pagoda, and a new pollinator flower bed – for which we have received lots of praise from many people passing by.
While we have been provided with some helpful funding from our local councillors, the work is primarily undertaken by us volunteers.
We meet 10am at the EBG every second Saturday of each month for a few hours, to do useful, and enjoyable, work across the whole park.
Come and join us.
