Carlisle City Council have confirmed the timings for their live screening of the Queen's funeral on Monday. 

They have said that the live screening will start at 10am and is planned to conclude when His Majesty The King and Members of the Royal Family depart for Windsor.

Leader of Carlisle City Council, councillor John Mallinson, said: "The live screening of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral is an opportunity for people to come together as a community.

"Due to the sensitivity of the occasion and to show respect to those attending, there will be no further activities or stalls to detract from the screening.

"We recommend that those planning to attend look at the guidance we’ve provided."

The Royal Household has announced the following programme and timings: at 10:30am The Queen's coffin is lifted by gun carriage from Westminster Hall, at 10:44am the procession leaves for Westminster Abbey, at 10:52am the procession arrives at Westminster Abbey and at 11am the service at Westminster Abbey begins.

Towards the end of the Service, at approximately 11.55am, the Last Post will sound followed by Two Minute’s Silence to be observed in the Abbey, and throughout the United Kingdom.

The National Anthem will bring the State Funeral Service to a close at approximately 12noon.

At 12pm the procession to Wellington Arch begins shortly after and at 1pm the procession led by the King arrives at Wellington Arch and departs for Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral will be shown on a big screen in Carlisle’s Bitts Park on Monday 19 September. 

The council have also announced that live BBC 1 coverage will be screened from 10am and the screen will be located near to the Queen Victoria monument in Bitts Park. The main access to the site is via Bitts Park car park or Mayor’s Drive.

There will be no seating available and Tribe Carlisle will be closed, so no food and drink will be on offer. There will however be toilet facilities. 

There is free parking in Carlisle City Council city centre car parks on weekends and Bank holidays. This includes Bitts Park car park and Castle car park.
