The legendary multi-vocalist, instrumentalist, live-looping pioneer and producer, Beardyman, is to play a gig at The Brickyard in Carlisle.
Beardyman rose to fame in 2006 as he won the UK beatboxing championship before returning the year afterwards to become the first person to retain the title.
The gig, which is being played on Friday, September 23, has been postponed from its original February date.
Beardyman, whose real name is Darren Alexander Foreman, is known for his eclectic array of vocal techniques, which include beatboxing, singing, rapping, overtone singing, scat singing, instrument/sound mimicry and voice impressions.
Over the years Beardyman has performed with some of the UK’s biggest acts including Groove Armada and Fatboy Slim, appeared in a comedy prom at the Royal Albert Hall with Tim Minchin and has voiced a character for a CBeebies show.
A spokesperson for The Brickyard said: “We're really looking forward to welcoming Beardyman to The Brickyard on Friday.”
“It’s not often we get a Beatboxing champion on our stage, so we're excited to see this 'walking jukebox' perform a whole mix of styles and genres.”
Doors open at 7.30pm on Friday, September 23 and tickets are still available to purchase for the gig from £18.
