NEW events have been added to the Borderlines Carlisle Book Festival.
The event which begins on Tuesday, October 4, will take place at venues in Carlisle’s Historical Quarter including Tullie House and Fratry Hall at the Cathedral.
Several ‘late to line-up’ events accompany a wide range of activities including author talks, workshops, a literary themed quiz, and open mic poetry night.
Festival chair Anne Smalley says: “We feel passionately that book festivals should be for everyone, and we hope that this year’s line-up (our most diverse ever) brings that home.”
On Sunday, October 9, Tullie House will host Claire Askew, Alice Tarbuck and AW Earl’s presentation of the 'The Modern Craft' as part of OUTlines, a safe space for LGBTQ+ voices in literature and in partnership with Free Radical Arts and Pride in North Cumbria.
On Monday, October 17, at 7.30pm Tullie House also hosts bestselling author and Founder Director of the Women’s Prize, Kate Mosse who will discuss her book, 'Warrior Queens and Quiet Revolutionaries' as well as sharing stories of female inventors, scientists, authors, and campaigners.
With tickets selling fast and some events already sold out, Borderlines have provided a virtual ticket option and all events will be filmed and available to watch online within 24 hours.
