Cumbria Pride is returning at the weekend with thousands expected to come to Carlisle to celebrate LGBT+ culture, heritage and history across the region.
This year’s event, happening on Saturday, September 24 is being held at the Caldew Riverside Car Park with free entry and no ticket required.
Previous events were held at Carlisle Castle but the rise in popularity the event has led to its relocation to allow for bigger crowds.
The event is being hosted by Darren Milby from BBC Radio Cumbria and DJ Kelly Dixon will be providing the main soundtrack for the day.
Entertainment will be on the main stage all day with artists including Jenny Ball, Michael T Ogilvie, and Miss Pearl.
Alongside all the music and entertainment there will also be a great mix of stalls from businesses, shops and organisations all coming out to show their solidarity with the LGBT+ community.
Stalls from Cumbria Police and the NHS will be there along with Carlisle Community Hub and Carlisle College.

OutREACH Cumbria, who have been supporting the LGBT+ community in Cumbria for 28 years and offer counselling for LGBT+ individuals, couples and family groups will also be in attendance.
Businesses across Carlisle have supported Cumbria Pride with Lush selling their charity pot with proceeds going to Cumbria Pride to help fund their work.
A spokesperson for Cumbria pride said: “We have a lot of stalls coming to join us this year, and we really want to focus on a holistic approach to support and it’s vital that support organisations all work together.”
“Cumbria Pride is about visibility, so our job is to sign post people to vital support.”
Cumbria Pride was started in 2009 and this year celebrates the 50th anniversary since the first Pride event held in London.
Following the event finishing there is an after party at the Glasshouse on Botchergate with free entry and no ticket required.
Cumbria Pride is supported by a number of organisations including Carlisle United, Sellafield, Cumbria Police, Carlisle City Council and Cumbria County Council.
